Slow Weekend, Beautiful Family

So we did have plans for a BBQ this weekend but, everyone we invited had couldn't make it. Just as well though, Connor has some eye crusties, Nick and Erica have sore throats, and I have a mixture of both. So Saturday we stayed home, exciting right. Sunday however everyone was feeling a little better so we went to Chuck-e-cheeses, ate some NASTY pizza and cheese sticks, and had a good time. Before we went though I was playing around taking some portraits. I was trying to get Nick but he was not feeling well, Connor was sleeping, and Erica had just rolled out of bed. She was gracious enough to allow me to take pictures of her. Connor eventually woke up and I was able to get pics of him. Well that was our week-end hope you enjoyed.

Carlsbad Flower Fields

This was supposed to be a Sunday Mommy meet up group type of thing! Erica and I were tired from the day before though, and again got a late start. We did not care in the least though, we took it nice and slow and went at our own pace. Carlsbad is a city about 40 minutes from here, they have a nice beach, cool place to pick your own strawberries, and the flower fields. There were whole fields of Ranunculus, and there was other areas that were just budding and hadn't bloomed yet. We couldn't have asked for a better day the weather was warm and there was a cool ocean breeze. We even took a wagon ride on the back of a cool old John Deer tractor. After the flower fields we got some lunch and drove to Santee lakes to feed the ducks and let Nick and Connor play on the play ground. It was a very nice day the weather was great, the kids cooperated, overall a great day

First Train Ride!

Nick, Connor, and Erica's first train ride happened in a little town called Campo. As always we were late and missed the first train ride, but that's o.k. When we pulled up there was at least 10 Pantera's sitting in the parking lot, train ride and a car show, pretty cool. Right before we bought the tickets the train pulled in, Nick was so excited as it pulled in and blew it's horn. There was a couple of exhibits that we were allowed to walk around on. Connor was quite content just sitting in his stroller making funny faces. Connor did have a fun time swinging with his mom, and Nick was in a swing of his own saying "higher". The train rolled up and we boarded and choose our seats, a nice open window. The train ride went for about 45 minutes and took us within feet of the Mexican boarder. On the way back towards the station Nick feel asleep in Erica's arms and Connor was almost asleep in mine. We left the Campo station and ended up in Campo dinner, where they claim to have the best fish and chips in San Diego county. Must admit they were pretty good. After a nice meal and refreshing iced tea we loaded up the sleepy kids and headed towards the desert. We stopped and took pictures of Carrizo Badlands, while trying to find flower's in the desert.

Victoria Gardens

Is a little place about 30 minutes north-east of our house. Really it's just some person's backyard turned into a pumpkin patch during Halloween, a light show during Christmas, and a petting zoo/train ride/pony ride/bouncer play area/corn maze/flower maze/strawberry picking field anytime else. This was one of the things from Erica's mommy meet up group that we went to yesterday before I had to go to work. Nick had a fantastic time his favourite event was the giant slide. His least favourite thing was the pony rides. He was so mad that he was on the pony, all he wanted to do was run and play. Even on the little train ride ( a small tractor with a train over the top ) he just wanted down to play. Erica and Nick picked a nice huge basket of strawberries, and they are as sweet as they look. Connor was strolled the entire time, there wasn't anywhere for infants to play, even so he seemed to have a good time looking at all the animals, and watching all the screaming crazy children. Well enough for now enjoy the pics.

Flowers for Mommy

03-02-03
6 years and counting, this day 6 years ago Erica and I were married. That means that we have been together for over 9 years. So how does it compare, 9 years ago we were 2 kids having fun. Now we have 2 kids and still having fun. Are family has grown, our lives have changed, we have had our ups and downs. Most people who read this blog have been with us since Erica and I started out together. For that I thank all of you and know that we love you and miss you. Erica and I look forward to many more years together and hope they bring us closer to each other and to all of you.

Sprinkler Time

Does anybody know what happens to a backyard after a month and a half of neglect? It becomes a mess, dog poop, weeds, leaves, and sticks from the neighbours tree. So yesterday I actually had a little time to clean it all up. It only took two hours and a whole spool of weed eater string (no lawn mower yet), and a broken rake. Anyways after it was all cleaned up my family got to enjoy the yard. It's sprinkler time!
