We are still alive!

Well it has been over a month since I have posted on this blog, I apologize. These last few weeks, I have been extremely busy with school. I started at National University, they offer one month classes, and they are very intense. The work load is not too horrible but the expectation is very high. Being that all the classes are online, there is not a lot of teacher interaction. So I have to read and reread and then Google to make sure I am doing it right. As of right now I have completed one course and am 2/3 the way through the second. At this pace I will have my Associates of Applied Science Major in Pre-Nursing within the next 4 months.

Now that we have our income tax’s back, Erica has been in heaven. And truthfully so have I. Erica has been getting all the cool stuff for the house: Nick’s big boy bed, new dressers for the boys and a craft table for herself. I have been making slow progress on the mustang: pulled the engine, got all the stuff to repaint the engine compartment, and this coming weekend hope to have the block at the machine shop. We have even managed to pay off two credit cards and set aside the money for our trip this summer.

The house, were do I begin with the house. A few weeks ago, there was possible the worst rain storms Southern California has seen in 100 years. We live in cheap Navy housing, so it was inevitable that the windows and sliding door would leak. The housing office way of fixing this was to just put silicon around the window, DURING a rain storm! Well that didn’t work, it still leaked. We did as much as we could soaking up the water, but it still managed to leak down inside the wall. About a week after the rain, we started to notice a weird smell by the sliding door. Turned out too be black mold, growing behind the base board. The drywall was also ruined and needed to be replaced. The housing office has also pulled out the pad from under the carpet. So as of today I have a patched together wall and a section of carpet with no pad.

Erica is due in a couple of months, and we are trying to prepare for that. We buy a pack of diapers for the new baby every time we get one for Connor, so we should be set on that end. Navy Housing has approved us for a four bedroom house. After looking at a couple we finally accepted one and will be moving at the end of this month. My mom will actually be flying down to help us with the kids, thank god! I am going to need all the help I can get. The good news is that, the new house is only six block from our current house. So moving shouldn’t be that difficult!

The kids are doing great! Growing like weeds actually! Connor and Nick have been officially sharing a room for the last week. I thought that it would be hard for them to adjust but they handled it just fine. Erica and I are the one’s having to adjust, they wake up between 6:45 and 7AM every day now. It used to be they would get us up around 9 or sometimes even 10, good for my evening shift, and we all know Erica loves to sleep in. So now that they are roomies Erica will have a room all to herself for her crafts.

Well I have to wrap this up. The kids need there usual snacks and drinks and you all know the rest. Sorry if most this was redundant from Erica’s facebook, and talking to others on the phone, but I needed to catch up for those we do not talk to often. Enjoy the pics.
