Between the Roxy Women's Surf competition, the Local Indian Cultural Event, Street scene, and the air races we could hardly decide what to do this weekend. So Nick decided for us, he loves anything that flies in the sky so it was off to the races. So we drove over to Coronado Island and picked a spot directly in front of the track. We had to get there 3 hours early to find parking and get a good spot. It paid off though, we had chairs, umbrellas, coolers, and even brought the grill. The race kicked off by Navy seals jumping into the water from helicopter and then getting picked up by another helicopter, way cool. The race is a single plane flying through a course of pylons, 250 mph, 15 feet off the water. If they hit a pylon it deflates, and adds seconds to the pilots time. It was a blast.
