Merry Christmas

What a Christmas, this year was the first time Nick was actually excited about opening presents. Following tradition he wanted to play with the first one he opened and didn't want to open anymore presents. Connor on the other hand was all about opening his presents, one after another after another, even his brothers gifts. Erica cooked a great ham and all the Christmas trimmings you could ask for, and since Nick and Connor will not eat any Erica and I gorged ourselves on dinner. Now after many exhausting hours of playing with new toys and cleaning up after the presents/dinner we are watching Micky's Twice Upon a Christmas. Then It is off to bed for the boys. Hope everyone has had a great holiday and have a great night.

They made out like Bandits. This isn't even all of it and there is a huge pile of clothes, shoes and socks. Thanks Everyone.

The GingyHouse!

Seems so simple cookies, frosting, candies and instructions, how hard could it be. It turned out that the roof is falling off, the window sill is falling, the tree is falling over and there is not enough frosting to go around. We had 2 amped up candy babies and disappointed adults. I think Erica and I seriously thought it was going to look as good as the box, we soon realized that we are not pastry chefs and frosting does not hold a roof together very well. We all had fun building and eating it, Erica says that we get to eat it over the next few days so we get to look forward to more amped up kids. Enjoy the pics!

I got Frocked!

Sounds a little weird but it's actually a way for the Navy to advance people with out paying them. It was really nice because Erica and the boys got to come up and put my new pin on. We stood there for a very long time this morning and Friday morning, just to make sure we could march 15 steps and then turn to the left. The ceremony was only about a half hour, there was a command photographer there so hopefully there will be a couple more pic to come. But for now here are a few that our friends took for us. Enjoy Where's Ben? Look who's happy!

Week before Christmas and 80 degrees

That's right, there is only one week to go and it is 80 degrees here. Not trying to rub it in or anything, It's just crazy to us even now. So what do you do in San Diego if it's 80 degrees, go to the beach what else. There were literally 10 people on the beach and a small wedding party, so the beach felt empty. The tide was out so Erica found lots of sand dollars and Connor even picked up a few nice shells for her. The kids were knocked out by the time we got to the car, a bonus for us! A nice Friday afternoon.

The Grinch Who Stole Happy Faces

You seriously would have thought he stole their Christmas. They were so scared. Nick hiding his face and Connor was shaking, crying and had a death grip on me. As if he would not let go ever, ever again. When done, all was better when they were given a mini candy cane.

Meetings of the Minds

Namely Connor and Elmo! Connor loves Elmo, he loves him so much that Elmo was his first word. On Saturday we went to the MWR Family Holiday Party, and Connor got to meet Elmo he had a smile on his face ear to ear was pointing and trying to touch him, and was screaming with joy. We did other cool stuff there like horse drawn carraige ride, bouncer tents/slide, ballon candycanes/beetle and seeing Santa. Nothing compares though to Connor meeting his Icon not even playing in snow! Best part for us it was again another free event! Enjoi!

December Night's at Balboa Park

This is the largest free event of the entire year, and as you all know we love free! They expected a crowd of over 300,000 in two days, but while we were there it really didn't seem that busy. That could be because the park is massive or the fact we got there two hours before the event started to see the poinsettias in the botanical gardens. We walked around smelling all the different food at the International Cottages, even picked up some cafe latte at the house of Italy. All the food costs money so what makes this a free event is that all the museums in the park open their door free to the public, there is over 20 museums to choose from ranging from San Diego history to car museums and so on. Nick and Connor choose to go to the Natural History Museum to see Dinosaurs! They had a blast running around all the exhibits and thought that the 30 foot great white hanging from the ceiling was great. Do you see the size of that funnel cake? We all sat around the fountain and shared it before the museum. Let me tell you it was very good but we couldn't finish it all.
