Nick had a fun first Halloween trick-or-treating! He even rang the door bells all by himself. Only thing is he doesn't say trick or treat yet, but he was very generous trying to give away his candy to others handing it out. Oh and he sure made out with lots of candy!

A Hunt for the Pumpkin
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! We went on the hunt for a pumpkin on saturday and got some fun pics. Here are just a few of them. When we arrived and got out Nick immiediately started sayin "Ball ball ball." We told him those aren't balls those are pumpkins, but he likes ball better. So we are going to carve a ball (pumpkin) this year instead.

Almost all contained
That's right almost all the fires are contained. There is only one fire that is not within the fire lines. That is the Witch Fire, and it is over 50 miles away. The air quality is still poor here but last night we could actually see the sky, and today we could see clouds that are not smoke clouds. Everything is almost back to normal, we'll be hanging our pictures up tonight and cleaning the ash off the balcony. Erica says that she will take pictures of the amount of ash and post them later. Update on the fires

The evacuations in our area have been lifted. We stayed with our friends by the ocean, Monday & Tuesday. We could have went home yesterday but decided that it was too smoky and ashy to go back to the area, Ben drove over to check it out. While he was there he got some more photos of the area. The ones I've posted are the same place and time as each other. The one you can see the landscape in, is without the camera flash. The one that's black, is with the flash. The flash picked up all the ash in the photo instead of the backdrop. "It looks like it is snowing," Ben said. But you can't really see the ash floating in the air unless a light is shinned on it. He took the photos around dusk.

California Firestorm 2007

Right now we are evacuees at our friends home by the ocean. All of San Diego is completely surrounded by fire. Hopefully we can go back to a home not burned to the ground. The fires are moving to the west. They are on the east side of the lake by our house, 1/2 mile up the road. Ben thinks that the fire is 2.5 to 5 miles from our house and it is moving towards it.
