I know I know....It has been almost two months since a post. But to my defense we have been very busy. Packing, traveling 1200 miles, unpacking. Still there is lots to do but we did stop for the holiday. Here are some pictures of the kids and our feast!! Happy Thanksgiving! Oh and P.S. I cooked the turkey right side up this time!!!!

Long Trip

Well Nick helped Jason take apart the table. The next day we went to Yuma, Az to get the Uhaul trailor, that was on Friday April 25. The next day Ben dropped Nick and myself off at the airport and we flew to Salt Lake City. Lisa was nice enough to pick us up and put up with us for a whole weekend. While her own husband was hijacked by mine to finish up loading, cleaning and driving to Salt Lake. (She even coped very well with my very loud boy and my non-stop talking) : ) Nick loves Emma. He fell in love with her the second he saw her again. All he wanted to do was hug her. The mountains there were so beautiful, too. Still had a little snow on them. We then made it to Wyoming on Tuesday. Got a little settled before we hit the road, again. To northern Wyo. to spend time with Grammy Marie. Then off to South Dakota to see Grandma & Grandpa G. On late Wed May 7 we finally headed back home to finish settling as much as possible before Ben leaves. While in South Dakota, Nick enjoyed test driving one of Grandpa's jobs. We spent about 3 1/2 days home then on the road to Denver to fly Ben back to Cali. He left yesterday to Hawaii and Guam and will be leaving sometime tonight on the ship where he will call home for the next couple of months. Ben has driven almost 3000 miles and flown approx. 7400 miles in less than one month. And his adventure is just beginning right now, as in he has arrived on the ship to deploy. Good luck Ben! We Love You! And can't wait until you return home, and can welcome your new family member!

Fun at the Beach

We had fun on Saturday at the beach. It was a beautiful day so we called up some friends and they brought their BBQ grill and we had chicken and fish on the beach. Oh we played lots, too.

Red Bull Air Races

Between the Roxy Women's Surf competition, the Local Indian Cultural Event, Street scene, and the air races we could hardly decide what to do this weekend. So Nick decided for us, he loves anything that flies in the sky so it was off to the races. So we drove over to Coronado Island and picked a spot directly in front of the track. We had to get there 3 hours early to find parking and get a good spot. It paid off though, we had chairs, umbrellas, coolers, and even brought the grill. The race kicked off by Navy seals jumping into the water from helicopter and then getting picked up by another helicopter, way cool. The race is a single plane flying through a course of pylons, 250 mph, 15 feet off the water. If they hit a pylon it deflates, and adds seconds to the pilots time. It was a blast.

Beach Fun!

We had lots of fun at the beach when Lisa and Emma came to stay with us! It was Emma's first time at the beach! We were glad to have them stay with us and can't wait to have them visit again.

The San Diego County Fair

It kinda reminded me of Cheyenne Frontier Days! I miss home. But it was really fun and Nick enjoyed his new backpack! Daddy is now the "mule" who carries him around. He loves it. He, as in, both of them!!! We had an awesome time there, I even got to ride the amusement rides with some friends! Ben doesn't like carnival rides because of the frequency that they are taken down and moved around. He does like climbing trees though, as he demonstrated in the parking lot of the shuttle area, after we were done at the fair.

The Birch Aquarium and the BBQ on the Beach

We had a really great day yesterday. We went over to Jason & Shannda's for breakfast, then went to the Birch aquarium. It was pretty neat but not as good as Ocean's Journey in Denver or the Shed in Chicago. After that we went out to the beach to have a BBQ. It was really cool because you can drive right on to this beach. We pitched our umbrella and fired up the grill. While there, I found some really cool teeny tiny sea shells and there were some big fish jumping out of the bay! Also, strangely enough, the same day we went to the aquarium we saw these jelly fish in the bay right where we were BBQin' . Nick had a blast today, he didn't even take a nap. There was just too much fun for him to have!
